Yo! What's
up?
Today, I’m going to post about Patronus Charm!
Maybe, some
of you are know nothing about it, and ask a same question "Patronus Charm?
What the h**l is that??"
Oke! I’ll
start now.but.... Firstly... you have to spell 'Expecto Patronum' out!
MORE
LOUDER!
EXPECTO
PATRONUM!!~
What is
Patronus?
In the
Harry Potter series, The Patronus Charm is a charm that evokes a
partially-tangible, positive energy force known as a Patronus. Patronuses are
also called spirit guardians, though this may only refer to corporeal
Patronuses. It is primarily designed for defence against otherwise unbeatable
Dark creatures like Dementors and Lethifolds , though there are other uses such
as messaging.
"A
Patronus is a kind of positive force, and for the wizard who can conjure one,
it works something like a shield, with the Dementor feeding on it, rather than
him. In order for it to work, you need to think of a memory. Not just any
memory, a very happy memory, a very powerful memory… Allow it to fill you up...
lose yourself in it... then speak the incantation "Expecto
Patronum"." —Remus Lupin teaching Harry Potter the Patronus Charm
To
successfully cast the Patronus Charm one must think of a happy memory (the
happier the memory, the more powerful the Patronus will be) and spell “Expecto
Patronum“ out. Harry learns to cast a patronus by none other than his Defence
against the Dark Arts teacher in his third year at Hogwarts, Remus Lupin. Here’s
something you need to know though, The Patronus Charm is considered very
advanced magic. There are two types of patronuses, corporeal and non-corporeal.
I will tell you about each of those types of patronuses.
CORPOREAL:
A corporeal patronus is a patronus that takes shape of an animal. For example,
Harry’s corporeal patronus takes form of a stag.
NON-
CORPOREAL:
A
non-corporeal patronus is a patronus that doesn’t take the shape of anything.
They resemble a burst of vapour or smoke without any clearly shown shape or
form shooting from the tip of the wand. Remus Lupin’s patronus is a
non-corporeal patronus.
List of
patronuses in Harry Potter :
- Harry Potter - Stag (same as James)
- Lily Potter - Doe
- James Potter - Stag (same as his animagi)
- Ronald Weasley - Jack russell terrier
- Hermione Granger - Otter
- Ginny Weasley - Horse
- Seamus Finnegan - Fox
- Albus Dumbledore - Phoenix
- Aberforth Dumbledore - Goat
- Kingsley Shacklebolt - Lynx
- Luna Lovegood - Hare
- Nymphadora Tonks - Werewolf (for Lupin)
- Ernie MacMillan - Boar
- Severus Snape - Doe (for Lily)
- Minerva McGonagall - Cat (same as her animagi)
- Cho Chang - Swan
- Dolores Umbridge - Cat
- Arthur Weasley - Weasel
- Andros the Invincible - Giant (or at least something the size of one)
The meaning
of the Stag Patronus :
A stag is
proud and strong. Have a powerful and compassionate heart. Find strength in
protecting others, particularly friends and family , or those who are weak .
This patronus is shared by one of the most famous wizards ever , Harry Potter .
Have little to no trouble conjuring a patronus because your desire to defend
yourself and others outweighs your fears and allows you to focus on the task at
hand .
And now! I
have some question for you.
What kind
of animal would your Patronus be? And why?
Anyway, I
knew what kind of animal would my Patronus be. Haha. Someone told me that my
Patronus/Animagus animal is a 'Dolphin'. Because they are very playful and
friendly. Joyful, intelligent, and very funny. Enjoying life, and like to help
others. Have so many happy thoughts that can easily perform the patronus charm
like me. :)-
Back to my
question. What kind of animal would your Patronus be? And why?
Remember
that J.K. Rowling has said that a Patronus reflects who you are as a person. So
it has nothing to do with your favourite animal.^^
Ok!
It's a wrap.
Thanks for reading.^^
